Applications are usually processed in minutes, and you can take your baby home. What does your adoption fee cover? Daylight
Located at the shelter-Daylight is a beautiful one-year-old female tabby who arrived at animal control with her three young kittens after they were surrendered and placed at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully, Edgar & Ivy's Cat Sanctuary was able to rescue this little family before it was too late. Daylight lovingly raised all three of her babies in the safety of our shelter, and now it's finally her turn to find a family of her own.
Daylight has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and is ready for adoption. She is a gentle, affectionate girl who loves attention and enjoys being petted. Paris
Located at the shelter-Paris Hilton is a beautiful white and gray female kitten born on April 1, 2025. She and her sister were left at animal control when they were only six weeks old, with no mother to care for them. When Paris arrived at Edgar & Ivy's Cat Sanctuary, she was critically ill with a severe upper respiratory infection. She spent weeks receiving medical treatment and loving care before finally growing strong enough to enjoy being a kitten.
Today, Paris is a petite little girl with a huge personality. She is playful, outgoing, curious, and loves making her foster family laugh with her silly antics. She adores attention, enjoys interactive play, and has blossomed into a sweet, affectionate companion who loves being around people.
Because of the severe respiratory illness she battled as a baby, Paris has been left with chronic watery eyes and occasional sneezing, especially around strong odors or changes in her environment. These are lifelong reminders of the infection she overcame, but they don't slow her down one bit. She runs, plays, climbs, and enjoys life just like any other happy kitten. Piko de Gato

His story began with heartbreak when he was found covered in orange spray paint across his head and legs, the victim of cruel treatment. Thankfully, he was rescued, received the veterinary care he desperately needed, and was given the chance to heal both physically and emotionally.
Today, Piko de Gato is thriving. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV positive. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is often misunderstood, but for neutered cats like Piko, it is not the frightening diagnosis many people imagine. FIV is primarily spread through deep bite wounds associated with mating and territorial fighting. Neutered, friendly cats like Piko pose little to no risk to other cats in a normal household, and FIV cannot be spread to people, dogs, or any other species. Cats living with FIV typically enjoy long, happy, normal lives and simply benefit from routine veterinary care and a loving indoor home.

Scrabble
Scrabble is a handsome tabby and white male cat born April 13, 2025. His story with Edgar & Ivy’s began when his mother was trapped with her newborn kittens and taken to animal control. We brought the little family into our care, where Scrabble and his siblings were able to grow up together in safety.
Scrabble found what we thought would be his forever home and spent almost an entire year with his family. Unfortunately, circumstances changed, and his family made the decision to return him to Edgar & Ivy’s.
After spending nearly his whole life in a home, coming back to the shelter has understandably been confusing for Scrabble. He is adjusting, but what he really needs is a second chance with someone who will give him the security of knowing that this time, he is home for good.

Gelato
Gelato is one of the lucky kittens who came to Edgar & Ivy's Cat Sanctuary through our recent collaboration with Weslaco Animal Control. Facing an overwhelming overcrowding crisis and limited resources, Weslaco Animal Control partnered with the ASPCA and local rescues to save as many lives as possible. We were honored to welcome 18 kittens into our care to help prevent unnecessary euthanasia.

Thanks to dedicated medical treatment and lots of love, Ava made a wonderful recovery. She does have some scarring on one of her eyes, but it does not affect her vision or her quality of life. Like many cats who recover from feline herpes virus, Ava will remain a lifelong carrier. This simply means the virus may become active during times of stress, but for most cats it causes only occasional mild symptoms, if any.
Feline herpes virus is extremely common in cats and cannot be spread to people or dogs. Most cats that have been properly vaccinated have significant protection against severe illness, and cats with feline herpes live long, happy, normal lives. Many of the cats in homes and shelters today are carriers without their families ever realizing it.

Dorothy is a beautiful calico female kitten born April 7, 2026, and this little girl has already survived more than most cats will experience in a lifetime.
Dorothy was found underneath a lawnmower with a devastating injury to her mouth. Her lower lip had been completely ripped away from her jaw. She required surgery to reattach the lip, which had to be secured to her back molars while everything healed.
Her recovery was long. Dorothy spent that time in a loving foster home where she could heal safely, and after everything she has endured, we finally get to say the words we have been waiting for:
Dorothy is ready for adoption.
Her surgery was successful, her mouth has healed, and her previous injury no longer interferes with her ability to eat. She can live a normal life.
Dorothy is also a carrier of feline herpesvirus (FHV-1), something we want her future family to understand without being frightened by the word "herpes."
Feline herpesvirus is an extremely common virus among cats. Once infected, most cats carry the virus for life, but that does not mean they are constantly sick. The virus can remain dormant for long periods, and many FHV-positive cats live completely normal, healthy lives.
Stress is one of the most common triggers for a flare-up. Moving to a new home, changes in routine, illness or other stressful situations can sometimes cause symptoms to reappear. Symptoms are usually associated with the eyes and upper respiratory tract and can include watery eyes, eye irritation, sneezing or nasal discharge.
Because of this, Dorothy would do best in a stable home where her family understands that she may occasionally need a little extra care during stressful periods. Strong scents, smoke, aerosols and other environmental irritants may also aggravate sensitive eyes or airways, so keeping her environment as clean and low-irritant as possible is helpful.
Feline herpesvirus is a cat-specific virus. People and dogs cannot catch it. It can be transmitted between cats, particularly when an infected cat is actively shedding the virus, so families with other cats should discuss vaccination and appropriate introductions with their veterinarian.
None of this changes who Dorothy is or what kind of life she can have.

Blossom is a beautiful gray and white kitten born May 19, 2026. She was brought to Edgar & Ivy’s with her two siblings when they were just little babies without their mom. Thankfully, the three siblings were safe with us and able to grow up together while they waited for the day they would be ready for families of their own.
Blossom has grown into such a sweet little girl. She is gentle, loving, and enjoys attention from the people around her. She has that wonderful kitten combination of curiosity and playfulness, but she also has a soft, affectionate side that makes her an easy little girl to fall in love with.

Captain Lava
Captain Lava is a ginger male cat born March 28, 2025. He was adopted from Edgar and Ivy’s when he was still a kitten and spent his first year growing up in a home of his own. When his adoptive dad joined the military and learned he would be away for two years, Captain Lava had to return to our shelter.
Coming back was difficult for him. Captain Lava was confused and frightened and didn’t understand why everything he knew had suddenly changed. With time, patience, and lots of encouragement, he has worked hard to be brave and learn to trust again. He is finally ready to put the past behind him and find a family of his own.
Captain Lava is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He already knows what it feels like to have a home, and we hope someone will give this sweet ginger boy the second chance he has worked so hard for.

Wolverine
Wolverine is a massive black male cat we estimate to be around 10 years old. With his long legs, tall frame, and sleek black coat, he looks like a little panther. But underneath that impressive exterior is an incredibly sweet and loving boy who has been through far more than any cat should have to endure.
Wolverine was rescued from a hoarding home where 38 cats were living together in a very small space with extremely limited resources. When he first arrived at Edgar & Ivy’s, he was overwhelmed and frightened. He stayed underneath his blanket almost all the time. That blanket became his security, and he would even walk around with it draped over him when he went to eat or drink.
As Wolverine has begun to realize that he is safe, we have watched his sweet personality slowly emerge. He is very friendly, affectionate, and loving. He has some hair loss from stress grooming during his time in the hoarding home, but his coat is already beginning to grow back as the stress of his former life fades away.

Wolverine was rescued from a hoarding home where 38 cats were living together in a very small space with extremely limited resources. When he first arrived at Edgar & Ivy’s, he was overwhelmed and frightened. He stayed underneath his blanket almost all the time. That blanket became his security, and he would even walk around with it draped over him when he went to eat or drink.
As Wolverine has begun to realize that he is safe, we have watched his sweet personality slowly emerge. He is very friendly, affectionate, and loving. He has some hair loss from stress grooming during his time in the hoarding home, but his coat is already beginning to grow back as the stress of his former life fades away.

Nino is a tabby male kitten born on April 22, 2026. He came to Edgar & Ivy's with his mother and siblings after his mom, a community cat, gave birth to her kittens outdoors. Knowing they would have a better chance at a safe and healthy future, the family came into our care, where his mother was able to raise her kittens in a secure environment with plenty of food, medical care, and love.

He came to Edgar & Ivy's with his brother and their mother after the little family was taken to animal control when the kittens were just six weeks old. Safe in our care, their mom was able to finish raising her babies in a loving environment with plenty of food, medical care, and attention.

Janine
Janine is a beautiful tortoiseshell female kitten born May 12, 2026. She came to Edgar & Ivy's when she was only four weeks old along with her mother and two siblings. The little family was suffering from a severe case of feline herpes virus and needed intensive care to recover.
Thanks to dedicated medical treatment and lots of love, Janine made a wonderful recovery. She does have some scarring on one of her eyes, but it does not affect her vision or her quality of life. Like many cats who recover from feline herpes virus, Janine will remain a lifelong carrier. This simply means the virus may become active during times of stress, but for most cats it causes only occasional mild symptoms, if any.
Feline herpes virus is extremely common in cats and cannot be spread to people or dogs. The entire litter arrived at Edgar & Ivy's Cat Sanctuary on April 22, 2026, when they were only three weeks old. They had no mother to care for them and were all dangerously underweight, dehydrated, and critically ill. Every one of the kittens required intensive, around-the-clock care to survive. They were bottle-fed, treated for their illnesses, kept warm, and closely monitored as they fought through those difficult first weeks.
Mercury proved to be a determined little survivor. Despite his rough start in life, he grew stronger each day and has blossomed into a sweet, playful, and affectionate kitten who loves people and is always ready to explore his surroundings. When Espresso's family experienced a crisis of homelessness, she gave birth to her babies in the car where they were living. Edgar & Ivy's welcomed the little family into our care, giving them a safe place to grow while their owners worked to get back on their feet.
We are thrilled that Espresso was reunited with her family after they secured stable housing, making this one of our favorite reunification stories. Now Brew is the last of her kittens still waiting for a forever home. He has grown into a healthy, playful, and loving young cat who is ready to start the next chapter of his own story with a family to call his own.

Dream is a handsome male tabby kitten born April 25, 2026. He was found outside with his mommy and six siblings, but thankfully, this little family did not have to continue trying to survive outdoors on their own.
A wonderful foster opened their home to the entire family, giving Mommy a safe place to raise all seven of her babies. Instead of worrying about food, weather, and all the dangers of life outside, Dream and his siblings were able to grow up safe, comfortable, and cared for.
Once her babies were old enough, Mommy was spayed and returned to the outdoor colony she knows as home. Her job raising seven little ones was finally finished, and now it is time for her babies to begin their own lives.

When Eden first arrived at Edgar & Ivy, we honestly thought this little girl had somehow gotten smudged with grease. But when we took a closer look, we discovered something remarkable—those weren’t smudges at all. They were part of her coat.
Eden is a ginger-dominant tortoiseshell, with beautiful dark tortie speckling scattered throughout her warm ginger coat. We see thousands of cats, and we have never seen another one quite like her. Her coloring is absolutely striking and makes this little girl impossible to forget.
Eden was found outside alone with her brother, Ed. We estimate her date of birth as May 15, 2026. She was understandably cautious when she first arrived, and we don’t know what she and her brother experienced before they were found. But Eden has warmed up tremendously and has quickly become a favorite around here.
With her unusual coloring and sweet personality, Eden is definitely going to be a conversation piece—and she deserves a family who will adore every unusual little speckle.
